Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  (Matthew 11:28)

In the New York harbor stands the Statute of Liberty with a welcoming light in one hand and an inscription which reads:

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me:

I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

Likewise, the gentle shepherd tenderly calls out to all those who are weary and burdened down with troubles and sorrows, “Come unto me…I will give you rest.”  Jesus Christ does care about your problems.  His concern is sincere; His compassion heartfelt.

Are we, like the Savior, concerned about those who are unfortunate, burdened and broken?  Reach out to them today!     ~

And my people are bent to backsliding from me; though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt Him.   Hosea 11:7

“My people are bent to backsliding from me.”  That sounds like America, don’t you think?  God has richly blessed our people in the past two centuries.  There was a time that most Americans believed in the existence of God, and even the unsaved showed respect to God, to the church, and to the Word of God.

America has backslidden from the Lord!  Hollywood had filled our living rooms with Sodomites, blasphemers, adulterers, and foul language.  Hollywood has set these low standards and America follows as a lamb to the slaughter. Sin is still sin, and God is still holy.  We must remember our Godly heritage, repent of our sins, and return to God before it’s too late.     ~

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.    Ezra 7:10

Ezra's three-fold resolution in life would be good for us to adopt: (1) seek the law of the Lord, (2) do it, and (3) teach it.

First he sought God’s law.  We should read and study our Bibles every day.  Afterwards we ought to spend the rest of the day meditating on what we have read.

Ezra’s second step was to obey God’s word.  Just learning what the Lord wants us to do is not enough.  We must put it into practice in our own lives.

Only then may we be qualified, as Ezra, to teach God’s word to others.

Adopt these resolutions for your own, but keep them in the same order: seek, do, then teach.     ~

Genesis 2:7

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Many volumes have been written on the subject of man’s beginning; however, if you want the truth, turn to the Bible and read its pages.  Genesis, the book of beginnings, reveals to us the beginning of the earth with every living creature, including mankind.

On the sixth day of creation, God took special care in forming the first man, Adam, with His own hands.  After carefully and wonderfully creating man God breathed into him the breath of life and man became a living soul.  He became more special than animals, fishes, birds or plants.

The religion of evolution (falsely called science) is a theory of lies and suppositions.  The record of God’s word is true; believe it!    ~
